Industrial & Commercial Marine Construction in Texas

Heavy marine construction, commercial dock building, and pile driving for utilities, municipalities, and industrial waterfront developers.

Industrial Marine Construction

Waterside Services provides industrial marine construction for projects that go well beyond a residential dock. Working from our yards in Galveston and Huffman, we bring the crews, equipment, and on-the-water experience that heavy marine construction demands, including cranes, sectional barges, and push boats that let us work directly from the water. We build and repair marine infrastructure for municipalities, utility companies, industrial facility operators, and commercial developers across the Texas Gulf Coast and Greater Houston.

Capabilities: Heavy & Civil Marine Construction

Our marine civil construction work covers the structures that keep waterfront facilities safe, accessible, and operating: commercial bulkheads and seawalls, piers and access walkways, marina structures and waterfront buildings, pile foundations over water, and barge-based access for work under bridges and along waterways. We also repair and rehabilitate aging marine structures so they can stay in service. Whether the job is a new commercial dock, a pier, a seawall, or getting crews and equipment onto the water for an urgent repair, one team handles the marine work from planning to closeout. For storm or impact damage, see our 24/7 marine emergency response.

Industrial and municipal projects come with more moving parts than residential work. We coordinate with your engineers, project managers, and permitting agencies from the start, so the plan, the schedule, and site access are clear before crews and equipment arrive. Where your project includes large seawall or shoreline work, see our bulkhead construction services.

Commercial Dock Construction

We build commercial docks for marinas, waterfront businesses, parks, and industrial sites. Commercial docks carry heavier loads and see far more traffic than residential docks, so we plan the framing, piling layout, and decking around how the dock will actually be used, whether that means daily boat traffic, public foot traffic, equipment, or vessel mooring. We also extend, repair, and rebuild existing commercial docks, and can add low-maintenance decking and boat lifts as part of the same project.

Marine Pile Driving

Pilings are the foundation of every dock, pier, and bulkhead we build. Our marine pile driving work sets pilings to the depth and spacing each structure needs, working from land or from barges on the water. Correctly driven pilings are what allow a marine structure to carry its load and stand up to tides, storms, and soft Gulf Coast soils, which is why we treat pile driving as a core part of every project.

Featured Industrial & Municipal Projects

Our work for marinas, public waterfronts, and utilities across the Houston region shows the scale, equipment, and speed industrial clients need, from full marina rebuilds to same-day access on a downtown bayou.

Lake Houston Marina Revitalization
We revitalized the bulkhead at a Lake Houston marina and built a new waterfront marina building, from rebar and concrete through framing, roofing, insulation, and large windows facing the lake. View the project

Sabine Lake Pier Project
We built a pier and marsh walkway on Sabine Lake, launching a push boat for the water portion and setting pilings, saddles, stringers, and deck boards. View the project

CenterPoint Energy, Buffalo Bayou, Downtown Houston
CenterPoint Energy needed access to a damaged pipe under a bridge in downtown Houston. We used a crane to set sectional barges, a push boat, and an aerial lift in Buffalo Bayou, and set up and completed the project in under 12 hours. View the project

How an Industrial Marine Project Works

1. Scope & Site Review
We review your drawings, site conditions, water depth, and access, then confirm the scope and schedule with your team.

2. Engineering & Permitting Coordination
We work with your engineers and coordinate the permitting requirements before construction begins.

3. Mobilization & Construction
We mobilize crews, barges, and equipment and build to the project specifications, keeping your project team updated throughout.

4. Closeout
We walk the finished work with your team, address any punch-list items, and clean up the site.
